Access Yoga offers a full spectrum of private yoga therapy instruction in a one-on-one or small group setting to individuals of all ability levels. We offer a transition program for physical therapy patients and individuals who may benefit from a simultaneous approach to their healing process.

Perhaps a patient had surgery and has completed physical therapy and is now looking to “round out” their rehabilitative processes. Or, yoga therapy may offer an alternative approach to healing and strengthening for patients who just want to try something different.

How Access Yoga Therapy Works

Access Yoga is available by a referral from any of our physicians, former students, friends and acquaintances. It is not a traditional yoga studio that holds group classes on a regular schedule; all work is one-on-one and personalized.

Through careful needs assessment and practice of various poses and their sequencing, clients may find relief from ailments including but not limited to:

  • Fatigue
  • Stress
  • Lack of motivation
  • Insomnia
  • Back or neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Hip pain

Regardless of ability, each client will be introduced to a yoga therapy practice that focuses on poses (asana), breathwork (pranayama) and linking breath to movement (vinyasa). Yoga students will realize how the mind and the body are connected and how physical and mental strength, peace, clarity and flexibility spill over into everyday life.
