NH - The Bakie Center at Access
Occupational Medicine and the Hand Center at Access Sports Medicine
and Orthopaedics will host an informal discussion on
carpal tunnel and other common workplace over-use injuries of
the elbow, wrist and hand on Wednesday, April 21st at One Hampton
Road in Exeter. Upper extremity over-use injuries are common
in the workplace. It is important to understand how individual
risks may result in compressive neuropathies and other over-use
syndromes.
Dr. Geoffrey Shreck of the
Bakie Center at Access Occupational Medicine will explain
how to recognize workplace hazards and the responsibilities
of the employer to prevent or rectify these situations.
Dr. Matt Quitkin, of Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics will
discuss treatment options and recovery time for many common
upper extremity over-use injuries. Please join the Bakie

Geoffrey
Shreck, MD is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine
physician specializing in Occupational Medicine. Dr. Shreck
completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Berkshire Medical
Center in Massachusetts. He received his medical degree at the
University of Oklahoma and his undergraduate degree at Phillips
University. He has over 10 years of experience practicing Internal
and Occupational Medicine in New England.
Dr. Shreck's areas of interest include disability management
and acute injury management for workplace illnesses and injury.
Dr Shreck is a certified Medical Review Officer . He is experienced
in pre-placement evaluations, fitness for duty evaluations and
OSHA medical surveillance exams.
Matt
Quitkin, MD, MBA is a
Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon fellowship-trained in Hand
and Upper Extremity Surgery. Dr. Quitkin graduated
magna cum laude with a degree in Biology from Princeton University
where he was also elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society
and the Sigma Xi Research Society. He earned
his Medical Degree at the Yale University School of Medicine.
Dr. Quitkin completed both his internship in general surgery and
his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the George Washington
University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He was the
Robert E. Carroll fellow in hand surgery at New York Orthopaedic
Hospital/Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York where
he studied under Dr. Melvin P. Rosenwasser and Dr. Robert J. Strauch.
Dr. Quitkin specializes in pediatric and adult upper extremity
and hand surgery. His areas of expertise include trauma, congenital
abnormalities, arthritis, tumors, arthroscopy and reconstructive
surgery.
