Testimonial LadderDear Doctor Siegel:
I hope this summer finds you and your family well. I just wanted to write to let you know that Jodi and I just returned from our trek across the Haute Route in France and Switzerland. We hiked in varied conditions from Chamonix in France to Zermatt in Switzerland, a total of 120 miles and 48,000 vertical feet climbed over 16 days. Some of the days exceeded 6000 feet up and/or down at altitudes from 6,000 - 9,800 feet.

What can I say but thank you, thank you! Without your skillful repair I would never have been able even to attempt this trek. I had virtually no trouble, injury or pain in my knee and I felt strong and confident as I walked. This was unquestionably the most challenging hike Jodi and I have accomplished to date and we are so thrilled to have been fortunate enough to start, enjoy the trip and finish! Again many thanks.

Stuart

Dear Doctor Bruno:
I'm very grateful for your expertise and wonderful professional abilities to help me through the surgery and recovery. Many Thanks.

Dear Doctor Siegel:
I just wanted to write and say thank you to you, Maria and all your office staff for taking such great care of my mother during her office visit earlier this week. My parents returned from the appointment feeling that they had received such warm care and attention. While it is disappointing that my mother has apparently developed a significant rotator cuff tear, at least she knows now what is wrong and can engage in some some PT to address it. Thank you again and please send my thanks and greetings to Maria!

Stuart

Dear Doctor Siegel:
Congratulations to Josh for the recognition he so richly deserves. Following his recommendations, I recently had bi-lateral total knee replacement. My rehabilatation was more successful than anticipated and I was back playing golf within five weeks. Again, congrats to Josh and thanks for his accurate diagnosis and thoughtful recommendations.

Dear Dr. Siegel:
I simply wanted to thank you, your colleagues and your staff for your time and kindness during my visit to Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics.

You have a tremendous facility - one that is obviously very focused on and attentive to the community and your patients, but one which strives to bring superior advancements and medical care to the area. It is an office about which you and your staff should be proud, and that pride shows through from everyone there.

Once again, thanks to you and your staff for making me feel so welcome.

Anne Boyd, MD

Dear Doctor Bruno:
I was first referred to you by Access because at the time you worked out of New England Medical Center. I was told you were the only hope of me being able to have any significant use of my right hand, and that the treatment I would receive there would be "the best there is..." Thanks to your surgery, I was able to retain use of that hand. Shortly after, I began playing the guitar (mostly because of your encouragement) and surprisingly, it has been very successful for me.

Since then you have moved up here to join Access, and the ongoing treatment (and therapy) I've received there is the only reason I am able to continue to play (8 years later). It's been a long road for me and I have seen more than 4 dozen specialists (for other injuries) and many of them have also been touted as the best in their fieds... I wouldn't pretend to know enough to make that comparison, but based on my experience, I can say that it has never been more obvious to me that the care I've received from you and Access is the best there is...

Dear Doctor Bruno:
I want to thank you for fixing my hand or should I say you are a great doctor and a fun person as well thank you for your kindness .

Dear Doctor Bruno:
I'm Luke H, your patient for Biceps Tendon Rupture, Distal, surgical repair on 9-15-08. I'm the one that was on the sailboat in Portsmouth harbor. We were heading south to Virginia when I overdid it and injured myself. Your guidance was that, after the operation, all I could do on a boat was to sit around and drink tropical drinks with little umbrellas in them. Well, we didn't have any umbrellas, but, per your admonitions, did get another person to help us get the boat back.

We did indeed get back - as evidenced by the attached picture. We left Portsmouth on 10-2, and arrived in Deltaville VA on 10-12 - with mostly dawn to near dusk days of sailing/motoring. In my non professional opinion, the arm repair has survived well, and healing is progressing.

Thanks so much for the fine work and the quick response to take me into your busy schedule. I really appreciate all that you and the fine folks at Access have done for me. I believe I was very fortunate to have had your expertise and the very professional Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics organization available in my time of need. I wish you and the Access group much success going forward. Thanks for all that you did for me.

Luke H, S/V Latitudes

Dr. Bear:
"We are enclosing 2 photos of Bob driving his 6-dog sled team this winter. It is thanks to you and his new hip that he was able to do so, and to have such a successful season. We have seen your newsletter and the articles about some of the sports figures you have treated. We bet this is the first dog-sled driver you have ever rehabilitated!!! Many, many thanks for making it possible for us to continue our life-long passion – being in the out-of-doors with our dogs."

Dr. Siegel:
"I am writing to thank you for the excellent care you rendered during my recent bout with my frozen shoulder. Although it was a lengthy process, I always felt that you had my best interest at heart and I always valued your opinion and knowledge regarding my condition. I will forever be thankful to you for your services and care.

I also wanted you to know that the ENTIRE STAFF at Access Sports Medicine, Access Rehabilitation and Northeast Surgical Care are terrific to deal with! The staff members at all of these facilities were never anything but professional, kind and very caring. Throughout the process of getting the use of my arm back, I had nothing but pleasurable experiences when dealing with all of these facilities and their individual staff members (if you can consider physical therapy and surgery pleasurable).

Thank you again D. Siegel for helping me get through the last year with my shoulder. I can assure you that should I ever require orthopedic care again, I will return to your organizations knowing I will get the best care available!"

Suzanne

Dr. Siegel:

"Thank you very much for taking such good care of my mother-in-law. She is really grateful and free of pain now."

Nina

Dr. Siegel:
"Just wanted you to know that my shoulder feels great! I have had no problems for the last 2 months. I just returned from a week of wet, damp camping along with several kayaking trips and have not experienced the slightest bit of pain. Thanks for giving me back my mobility."

Donna

Dr. Siegel:
"I want to extend my sincere appreciation for your kindness and professionalism during the past year. Words alone are insufficient to describe the highest level of care and commitment that any patient could ever expect to receive."

Richard

Dr. Siegel:
"A belated note of thanks for your expert surgery on my shoulder. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. It's wonderful to be able to do things, work related or otherwise, pain-free. The accolades you’ve been accorded for your work are greatly deserved and I would like to add mine to what I am sure is a long list."

Roger

Dr. Bruno:
Thank you so much for doing such a fantastic job treating me after my automobile accident. It was reassuring to know I was being taken care of by one of the best orthopaedic surgeons. You're the kind of doctor who treats the person as well as the patient.

Shirley

Dear Karen (Kay) and Josh (Dr Siegel):
This is a long overdue thank you for the incredible difference you have made in my life! When I came to see Josh(Dr Siegel) months ago, I hadn't been able to run for months, had been diagnosed by a non-Access doctor with a bone spur and split ankle tendon, and had been told I had to have ankle surgery in order to ever be able to run again. I was in an ankle brace that I had been wearing for a few months, just so I could walk fast, hike and bike. I had pretty much given up on my favorite past time (running) because I hated thinking of surgery.

I came to Josh(Dr Siegel) for a second opinion, and he asked the right questions: what were my long term athletic goals? Did I want to run marathons and lots of races every year, or did I just want to be able to get back to casual running a few days a week with an occasional 5 K? That was all I wanted--just to be able to get back to the sport I had been addicted to for 30 years (which had evidently destroyed my ankles and knees). He said: you do NOT need surgery as it would keep me from running for several more months. He said I needed KAREN! (Karen Kay, Access Acceleration)

Karen(Kay), you did your incredible magic--made me use two huge muscles (rear end!) that I had evidently not been using for years. You somehow discovered that I had been putting all my weight on my knees and ankles; you taught me how to walk again, and then to run. I had to stop coming to you long before I was "ready" because I was going to be out of the country for a month. But I actually kept up with the program, every day! And I was happily jogging lightly on the beach in Puerto Rico in February. And as of today, I have started training for a triathlon (the mini kind--only a 3 mile run) which is in late July. I only run or jog when it doesn't hurt, I use the butt muscles ALL the time now, hiking, biking, walking..not just running. (and, as an added value side benefit: I have more tone in my butt and upper legs than I have since I was 30!).

I turn 60 July 6, and I will happily be swimming, biking, and yes RUNNING, for years to come.

I do need to come back for more help, and need to see you for some inspiration in upper body weight training, but I just wanted to say a sincere and long overdue thank you.

With tons of gratitude, ML
Portsmouth, NH
