About Dr. McGuigan

Dr. John McGuigan is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in
the evaluation and treatment of conditions affecting the hand and wrist.
He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and holds additional
certification in both surgery of the hand and orthopaedic sports medicine.

Dr. McGuigan offers both nonsurgical and surgical treatment options and
works closely with each patient to develop an individualized treatment plan
based on their condition, goals, and lifestyle.

Education and Training

Dr. McGuigan earned his undergraduate degree in engineering from the
University of Virginia. He received his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel
Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and completed his
orthopaedic surgery residency at Madigan Army Medical Center. He later
completed advanced fellowship training in hand surgery at the University
of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. McGuigan emphasizes clear communication and patient education. He takes
the time to explain each diagnosis, review the available treatment options,
answer questions, and help patients make informed decisions about their
care.

His goal is to reduce pain, restore function, and help patients return to
their everyday activities, work, sports, and hobbies.

In addition to his civilian orthopaedic practice, Dr. McGuigan serves as an
officer in the United States Army Reserve, bringing extensive clinical and
leadership experience to military and civilian medicine.
