Our Exeter location will expand physical therapy space by closing Access Acceleration in order to comply with social distancing guidelines.

May 8, 2020, Portsmouth, NH — Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics, the Seacoast’s leading provider of orthopaedic care and services, has expanded the space dedicated to physical therapy services and permanently closed the Access Acceleration athletic and fitness training program at our Exeter, NH, location.

To comply with social distancing recommendations and to ensure the health and safety of our patients and staff, we are repurposing the Access Acceleration space and expanding our physical therapy areas in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

“While we are disappointed for the staff and clients of Access Acceleration, we are grateful to be able to repurpose this space to allow safer distancing between physical therapy treatment areas for both our patients and staff,” said Christie Hudson, DPT Rehab Director for Access Sports Medicine.

In addition to enforcing social distancing in our waiting areas and shared spaces, we are advising all patients and visitors to wear a face covering — such as a mask, bandana or scarf — upon entering our facilities.

Each Access Sports Medicine facility is also:

  • Requiring daily temperature readings for all staff members before they begin work.
Providing personal protective equipment for all staff members, including gloves, masks and face shields.
  • Prioritizing extensive cleaning and disinfecting procedures throughout the day. High-touch areas (door handles, faucets, etc.) are given additional attention.
  • Utilizing professional cleaning teams to deep clean and disinfect certain areas as necessary. These services include post-cleaning reports that test for the presence of bacteria and other pathogens.

You can see more about how we are prioritizing the health and safety of our patients and staff here.

Our Exeter, Portsmouth and Dover locations remain open for urgent appointments. The Exeter and Portsmouth walk-in locations will also remain open. Telehealth appointments are available for qualifying patients. Please contact our office or request an appointment.

We will continue to communicate the statuses of our locations throughout the COVID-19 outbreak. Please note that if you have an urgent orthopaedic need, we are always here for you!
