Guide to Injury Prevention

Plaistow, NH – Baseball and softball season is right around the corner and Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics would like to help area athletes make it through the upcoming season injury free.  Join us on Thursday, March 13th at 6:00pm at 13 Plaistow Road in Plaistow, NH for a brief session on “A Preseason Guide to Injury Prevention in the Young Throwing Athlete.”  Dr. Kevin Heaton will break down the mechanics of throwing and why overuse injuries of the shoulder and elbow are so common.  He will explain the use of pitch counts and how other conservative measures are often used to limit throwing injuries. Amanda Canning, ATC will demonstrate exercises and stretching techniques that can prepare the upper body for baseball and softball season and Dr. David Davis will discuss common signs and symptoms of an overuse injury and what treatment options are available.

An assortment of food and beverages will be available and one lucky attendee will leave with a pair of tickets to an upcoming Red Sox game at Fenway Park!  Please RSVP for this event as space is limited by calling (603)382-1559 or email events@accesssportsmed.com.  Parents, coaches and athletes are all encouraged to attend.
