Craig HeadshotExeter, NH – Craig Favara, Fitness Director at Access Acceleration, took home first place Saturday, June 25th at the 2016 RPS CT State Powerlifting Championship.

In his first full meet, Favara participated as an amateur in the 242 Raw Classic Weight Class.  He finished first place in his class with an overall total of 1365 lbs.; which combines Squat, Bench Press and Deadlift.  Weighing in at 235.6 lbs., Favara put up an impressive 500 lb. Squat, 335 lb. Bench Press and 530 lb. Deadlift.

The Revolution Powerlifting Syndicate (RPS) was founded in 2011.  It is an organization who provides powerlifting competitors an environment in which they may compete at their highest level utilizing the best equipment and conditions to perform the squat, bench press and deadlift in the presence of three qualified referees and judged to the criteria of the sport of powerlifting.  The 2016 RPS CT State Championship attracted over 150 competitors in Hartford, CT on Saturday.

“A lot of hard work and preparation went into the last 12 weeks.  There were ups and downs and times I wanted to throw in the towel, but I stuck with it and I’m glad I completed my first full powerlifting meet.  Hard work and determination pays off.” says Favara.
