The American College of Radiology (ACR) recently recognized Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics for our ongoing commitment to providing quality diagnostic and digital imaging services to our patients.
The ACR visited our open MRI facility in Dover, NH to confirm our accreditation and ensure we are in accordance with the high standards of their accreditation program. More than 10 years ago, our Exeter, NH site was actually the first of its kind in the country to be accredited by the ACR.
The Dover facility is now our second location to be in good standing with the ACR, and our open MRI has upheld the high-level of quality that is expected of all ACR-accredited facilities. The ACR’s MRI Accreditation Program evaluates:
- Staff qualifications
- Quality control
- Safety policies
- Image control
Our open MRI features a pavilion-style shielding system, which allows the technologist to remain in the same room as the patient during the scan. Open on all sides, this type of MRI was designed to eliminate the confinement patients often experience with closed MRIs.
